Marketshare - Market overview - April 2022

NCS has acquired two companies in quick succession. The Dialog Group for $325m and the Arq Group for A$290 in the same market as well as three other acquisitions in data analytics and cloud space in 2021. We are seeing very strong interest by telecommunications companies in the region (Telstra Purple, Starhub and others come to mind) to bolster their consulting capabilities.

Accenture remains a major acquirer of capability globally. Hardly a day goes by without an acquisition being announced by the 699,000 people strong ecosystem. Aside from technology and marketing services in the broadest sense, we are seeing sustainability consulting being sought after not only by Accenture but by management consultants generally, not to mention law firms who are moving with pace into this space.

Infosys acquires digital marketing, experience design and commerce provider, oddity.

Capgemini continues to significant acquisitions in Australia with the acquisition and privatisation of ASX listed Empired and adding capabilities to RXP Services/The Works.

After a long period where public affairs and communications were not top of mind in the Indo-Pacific region in terms of M&A and acquihire activity, this has changed with many global and regional players in active dialog with parties in this space.

Lastly, we are particularly excited by the fact that aside from the interest from global players, particularly those backed by private equity who have significant dry powder to deploy, we are seeing the emergence of local ASEAN and regional ecosystems looking to create local powerhouses. More on that in future editions.
